The book you hold in your hands is the culmination of twenty years of experience in the prosecutor’s office and the courts. Within these pages, I share my observations and insights, drawing from real-life events. Naturally, I have woven these accounts with artistic embellishments, crafting a narrative that blends reality with imagination. My personal and extensive experience in solving crimes has served as a valuable foundation for writing this story.

The events depicted take place in the 1980s during the Soviet era, extending into the years of independence. Based on the real-life experiences of dedicated and conscientious prosecutors, this book demonstrates how even the smallest mistake can lead to significant consequences.

While this work is rooted in the detective genre, I have also sought to explore universal themes: love, loyalty, devotion, encounters and separations, friendship, humanity, and the sanctity of family. My hope is that these elements will inspire readers to reflect deeply and draw meaningful conclusions.

As an amateur writer, I leave it to you, dear readers, to judge whether I have succeeded in tackling such a significant endeavor. For any creative person, their work is like a beloved child—no artist would willingly call their creation flawed.
